Katelyn is 7 months old!

We hope everyone is doing well. Our latest update....Our little baby is officially 7 months old! We can hardly believe how much she has grown in the past few months. At her last doctor visit she weighed 17 pounds and was 27.5" She is in the 95th percentile for height!! Growing like a weed. Katelyn is such a happy baby. Her personality is just flourishing and she continues to do new things everyday. She smiles at everyone and giggles from her belly when she thinks something is really funny. She has mastered sitting up, has figured out how to get into the sitting position from a laying position and has even been caught pulling herself into a squat in her crib! YIKES! Daddy had the drill out and lowered the crib mattress the same day. She is trying very hard to crawl but still has not figured out how to move all her limbs at the same time :) She gets on her hands and knees but doesn't move forward yet. We anticipate this happening at ANY time! She has grown more and more interested or should I say INFATUATED with Meg, our dog. She laughs uncontrollably at the dog and I truly believe the dog will be the reason Katelyn finally crawls. She just wants to get to her so badly all the time :) It's really cute. We feel so truly blessed to be her parents and watch her grow. Below are just a few of her 6 month pictures. I wanted to post them but this is just a sample. They did such a great job... and of course so did Katelyn :)

Happy 4th of July!

We hope everyone had a fun, healthy, happy and safe 4th of July celebration. We headed to Wisconsin to visit my family for their annual 4th of July celebration. This was Katelyn's FIRST big vacation and she did awesome. She is quite the little traveler. This was her first experience on the airplane which we were a little skeptical about because she jabbers, talks, screams, whatever you want to call it, all the time! The good news though is that even the man sitting next to us at the end of the flight said how he thought she was such a great travler. We couldn't have been any more pleased. A couple of things we learned: only take non-stop flights (it's the only way to go if you can avoid connections), feed them as soon as you are ready to take off, definitely take your stroller but also use the baby bjorn (or other carrier) while getting on an off the plane (much easier) and just be prepared for anything (including blowout diapers in the airport bathroom on a tiny changing table! Overall we had a really good first experience with her traveling.
We had such a nice visit with my family. The weather was BEAUTIFUL! The first day we got there it was in the 70's sunny and no humidity! It felt like heaven to us Floridians. Katelyn got to meet many of her aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends for the very first time. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. My dad (Grandpa) restored a 1930's highchair for Katelyn which was SO sweet. She looked like such a big girl eating in it. We mostly spent the weekend visiting with family and friends and just trying to relax. On Monday we headed to Milwaukee for a Brewer's baseball game and decided to take Katelyn. Once again she did GREAT! Such a little social butterfly. She loved all the people and just being there.
A great time was had by all!! Thank you to my family for such a nice visit.
