Happy 4th of July!

We spent the 4th of July up in Wisconsin visiting Stef's family. We only got to spend a couple of days but it was a great time and great to see everyone. They had a large party of the 4th with tons of food and drinks, swimming, and a very large fireworks display.

Bob, Damon and Todd... the boys having a few drinks together. Bob is Stef's soon to be brother in law and Damon is Todd's friend of 22 years. They all met at our wedding in February and hit it off immediately.

Taking a dip in Dad and MaryAnn's pool... it was warm and the water felt great!

Here is a peek at the crowd in the driveway as they awaited the fireworks display. There were about 60 people there for the show!

This was the sign that hung on the front of the house when we arrived from the airport on the 4th! Bob, Stef's soon to be brother in law had it made special for our arrival! He is too much...

Damon and Todd... friends for 22 years.

Dad and Stef... it was great to see him.

Todd lounging in the pool and the girls were flocking him... Uncle Tater Tot is what they call him :)

Kirsten and Bob's dog Dakota decided she wanted to swim with Todd too. She is so cute and the most well behaved dog. She's a hunter and loves everyone.

It was a great visit!

A Trip to "The Windy City"

After spending a couple days with Stef's family in Wisconsin we headed to Chicago for a few days in our FAVORITE city! Our friends Damon and Brenda from Atlanta went with us and we had a blast! It was great to get away for a few days.

Taken at Navy Pier on Lake Michigan. The breeze from the water was great!

Stef and Skylar at the Goose Island Brewery where we did some tastings and had dinner one night. Skylar lives in Chicago so it was great to see her!

Sunday we went to the White Sox vs. Twins game at U.S Cellular Field. The White Sox won 6-3 and didn't even play the bottom of the 9th. It was EXTREMELY HOT with a temp of like 96 and a heat index of 105! We didn't mind though since it was such a neat experience.

The evening after the baseball game we headed to Navy Pier which is where this was taken with the city in the back ground. We had dinner and went to the Beer Garden there for some drinks and to hear live music. It was nice because of the breeze coming in off the lake.

Todd and Stef on Navy Pier at night with the city behind us.

The first evening we were there we enjoyed a famous Chicago Stuffed Pizza at Giordano's! This is the four of us waiting for our table for an hour!

Our journey from O'Hare airport to our hotel was quite amusing. We dropped off our rental car at the airport and decided to take the train to the city. Well, we ended up having to get a taxi after getting of the train and not all the luggage would fit in the trunk. Damon was happy to accomodate his suitcase on his lap :)

Saturday we spent the day walking a million miles and dodging a million people at the Taste of Chicago. It was really good food and a lot to see. It was also very hot this day too but well worth the visit.
