This is too cute... I caught Todd and Katelyn having a little music time together the other day and couldn't resist recording it to share. She loves music and in particular when her daddy plays guitar and sings to her. Watch how her legs get moving when he picks up the beat. Enjoy!
(Please note: you have to scroll to the bottom of the page and pause the background music on the project playlist media player before playing this video or you won't be able to hear the guitar)

3 Months old
We can hardly believe Katelyn is already 3 months old. As you will see in the pictures below, she has changed so much already. She has a language of her own in her babbles and coos and is stronger everyday. Now we just have to get her to sleep through the night EVERY night, not just every once in a while :) On a sadder note.. mommy had to start back to work this week. It was a very hard day but all survived. Hopefully every week will get easier. The blessed part is that if she isn't with mommy she is with daddy or grandma. Couldn't ask for a better situation.

Tummy Time
Katelyn is really starting to enjoy her playmat. She loves to look at all the colors and to kick the musical pad. She just made an effort to reach for one of the toys too. Getting stronger everyday ... and bigger too as you will see below. She is such a joy for us! Mommy starts back to work a week from Monday so hopefully all goes well with that transition. We'll post more pictures soon.

Katelyn is 9weeks old... already??
The time is flying by so quickly that our baby is already 9 weeks old. Just to give a quick synopsis of how things are going... Katelyn had her 2 month pediatrician appt. last Friday. She has reached 10 lbs and was 22.5" long. The doctor said she looked great and is growing well. She said she could now ride forward facing in the baby bjorn and also in the jogging stroller (music to mommy's ears since there is still baby weight to be lost!! ) She did have to have two shots which she let us know how she didn't appreciate, but all in all she did very well. It's amazing to see how she is reaching more milestones every week. She is holding her head up very well and is getting stronger everyday with tummy time. She LOVES her mobile in her crib, watching every move it makes. Music of any kind is her best friend, including when she and daddy play piano. If she is fussing he can sit down at the piano with her and she will immediately calm if he starts playing. We also have good news.. she is for the most part sleeping 6-7 hours at night straight. WAHOO!!! We never thought that would come and we have to say we are very lucky it has come already. There are some nights she still wakes but for the most part she is doing great with her sleeping at night. (I say this now...fingers crossed :) Oh and I can't forget to mention the endless smiles she gives us everyday. She even giggled for the first time last weekend. All are priceless to experience with her.
Hope all is well with everyone as we enter into spring. Bring on the warm weather!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Play Time!
Katelyn is really starting to discover her new world. She is not napping much during the day but when she does that our nights seem to be better. We are starting to have play time on her play mat and she really seems to like all the colors and sounds. It doesn't keep her attention for all that long but I'm sure with some time she will really start enj
oying it more. She is also doing really well with pulling her head up. We are looking forward to her personality getting even more pronounced!

Katelyn is 6 weeks old!
Katelyn is 6 weeks old this week. We can hardly believe it! She is growing and getting much heavier. Todd measured her last week and she is already 22.5 inches up from 19.75. She is still really little but we can tell a big difference in her weight just by holding her for any period of time. She is also getting that baby belly that is just too cute :) She is much more alert and active, has found her voice and is doing really well with holding her head up. She is very strong and acts like she just wants to get up and move. We are really enjoying watching her grow and develop. We are still somewhat sleep deprived but believe that will last for quite some time. Although she is doing 4 and 5 hour stretches at night... which is great! We go for her 8 week check up on the 26th so will give more of an update after that.
Mommy went for her 6 week appt. this week as well and checked out good. Incision is healing well and they cleared me for regular activity. Now no excuses for getting back to the gym! :)
