Sitting Up!

The past several weeks Katelyn has been working hard at mastering sitting up on her own. We are happy to report that all her hard work has PAID OFF. She is officially sitting up on her own. Now not to say that once in a while she decides to tumble backwards or sideways, but for the most part she is one happy baby to be in the seated position. She LOVES to be looking around at everything all the time and the success of this milestone is making it much easier for her to watch and see everything going on around her. It's also a lot easier for mommy and daddy too now that she can play sitting up. We got her some new floor toys that make tons of noise and keep her busy. She LOVES it! We are about to embark on Katelyn's first big plane trip this coming week. We'll be sure to report how everything goes when we return.

Wonderful visit with friends

We were blessed to have the Watkins family come to visit us from Ohio this past week. We so thoroughly enjoyed their visit and Katelyn really got to know their girls Riley and Brittany. We were very sad to see them leave today, but will look forward to them coming back again next summer. I've already promised Katelyn she can go to Disney with them next year as she missed out this year because she's still just a little too young. Below are some pictures we took of all the kids during their visit. Katelyn loved playing with Brittany and Riley and they were such great helpers too. Father's Day 2010

Todd had to work at the fire station on his first father's day, so Katelyn and I packed up a Dairy Queen ice cream cake and headed to Station 5 for a visit. She loved meeting all of the people at the station and got to have her first encounter with the fire truck. We took some picture below... We hope all the wonderful father's had a happy day too!

Katelyn is 5 Months old

It is hard to believe Katelyn is already 5 months old. The time is going so fast and she is changing even faster everyday. She currently weighs 15lbs 7oz and is almost 26" long. She is thoroughly enjoying her new dining experience which consists of rice ceral, apples, pears, bananas, peaches, sweet potatoes and squash. We are getting ready to start the green veggies, which we will hope go over as well as all the others. She will be on to stage 2 foods before we know it ;) Our little one has really developed quite a personality. She know what she wants, when she wants it and has no problem letting us know. Just today she started rolling from belly to back a few times and hadn't shown interest in it until today so I imagine she'll be rolling all over before we know it. We are really looking forward to taking her swimming this summer. We have been waiting until 6 months so we can lather her up with sunscreen :)
