Our First Anniversary

On 2/16/08 we celebrated our first anniversary! To do this we decided to head to St. Thomas/St. John for a long weekend. It was wonderful!! We had a great time and really wished we would have had longer than 4 days, BUT we learned new things about the area and will definitely plan to go back. We stayed on St. Thomas at the Wyndham Sugar Bay, which was very nice. Next time though we decided we would stay on St. John. The people, including the locals were very friendly, the beaches more beautiful and just over all a different setting. We would highly recommend the area. We had 3 days of sun and one yucky day of rain, but it didn't keep us in. We just didn't go to the beach that day. Below are some pictures of our adventure.
Enjoy!

Woody's was a restaurant/bar we went to in St. John the day it was rainy. It was great! They took our picture to place on their website. The address is above if you want to check it out.

The islands were very mountainous and rugged. This was on the grounds of our hotel.

Inside the lobby of our hotel

This was a tiny beach at the ferry dock on St. John. The water was pretty cold, but I couldn't resist getting my feet wet.

This shot is of the British Virgin Island and was taken at a distance from our hotel property.

Taken on the balcony of our hotel room. Behind me was Sapphire Beach

This was taken in a little bar/restaurant on St. John called Woody's. It was a blast! The staff and locals alike were very welcoming and very fun! They had $1 beers for happy hour and we had the BEST fish sandwiches and grouper fingers.

Overlook point in the National Park on St. John. The area behind Stef is Cruz Bay.

This was dinner the night of our anniversary. We ate at a seafood place called A Whale of A Tale in a small town called Red Hook that overlooked the bay and all the beautiful yachts and sailboats.

This was the ferry dock as we exited the ferry to spend the day in St. John.

Todd posing with the ferry boat behind him. It is about a 20 min. boat ride across from St. Thomas to St. John. Very well worth it! We found that we much preferred St. John to St. Thomas.

Here the weather was nicer.. this is St. John from the balcony of our hotel room.

Hiking up the 95 steps at our hotel that takes you from the rooms, lobby, etc. to the pool and ocean area. It is very mountainous and requires a lot of walking to visit this place :)

This was the beach at our hotel. The water was gorgeous.
